As I peered out the window, I couldn't believe my eyes: my neighbor was sneaking into my yard with a shovel in hand. The nerve! My curiosity piqued as he began digging, clearly thinking I wasn’t home. What on earth could he be searching for? My heart pounded when I saw what he unearthed, and I immediately grabbed my phone to call the police.

I immediately dialed 911, explaining the strange situation to the dispatcher. I could barely hold my voice steady as I described my neighbor's actions. The dispatcher assured me they would send an officer right away. My eyes never left the window, and I silently prayed that help would arrive quickly. Moments felt like hours as I continued to watch my neighbor, wondering what he was up to and hoping he didn’t notice me.

Within minutes, Officer Reynolds arrived and approached my neighbor, who quickly stopped digging and tried to hide the shovel. My heart raced as I watched the scene unfolding. The officer gestured for my neighbor to come over. He complied, albeit reluctantly, holding the shovel behind his back. From my viewpoint, I could see Officer Reynolds was asking him questions, likely pertaining to why he was in my yard digging.

Reynolds asked my neighbor what he was doing, which made him visibly nervous. My neighbor stammered and shifted his weight from foot to foot. It was clear he wasn't expecting to be caught, and his discomfort was palpable. I could see him gesturing vaguely towards the spot he had been digging, possibly trying to come up with a plausible story. Whatever it was, it didn’t look convincing to me or, apparently, to Officer Reynolds.
